Active with the American Society of Chemistry, Massachusetts executive Alexander Cherkassky has an extensive knowledge of translational and clinical mass spectrometry and cell and gene therapy. In his present position with Thermofisher Scientific, he guides commercial, marketing, and operations that ensure an innovative and efficient product portfolio. Alexander Cherkassky’s collaborative approach involves guiding cross-functional teams of field application scientists, product managers, and R&D professionals.
Working with global teams from his Massachusetts office, Alexander Cherkassky has positioned the Purification Business Unit for sustained expansion and profitability. He previously informed Fluidigm, Inc. (now Standard BioTools Inc.) as vice president and general manager. He oversaw portfolio management and marketing strategy across functions of mass cytometry systems spanning data analytics, software, and instrumentation.
His accomplishments included working to develop immune monitoring capabilities focused on the immunocompromised population and COVID-19 patients. He also helped advance genetic newborn screening that saves young lives.
